Dearest friends,
It is with a heart brimming with elation that I share with you the auspicious news of my partnership with Jessica Kingsley Publishers, an imprint of Hachette. This union is set to bring forth into the world a book I've titled:
"Thrive With ADHD - A Compassionate Guide Blending Neuroscience, Nutrition, and The Art of Living"
Envision, if you will, a preliminary glimpse of the book's cover. A mere draft that, in true ADHD fashion, may very well evolve into something entirely distinct. Yet, therein lies the charm! The inception of this journey with the cover is a testament to the spontaneous spirit of ADHD, where creative endeavours become a soothing balm for the soul β€οΈβπ©Ή
Jessica Kingsley Publishers is not just a beacon in the literary world for neurodivergent voices. It is a sanctuary. Founded by the visionary Jessica Kingsley, whose own autistic identity fueled her dedication to amplifying the voices of the neurodivergent community, the publisher stands as a testament to inclusivity and representation. To collaborate with such an esteemed house, which celebrates the vibrant spectrum of human experience, is a privilege that fills me with both humility and profound gratitude. It is a heartfelt embrace of my own autistic and ADHD identity.
"Thrive With ADHD" is crafted for astute nutritionists, dietitians, health coaches, psychotherapists, and all integrative health practitioners dedicated to enhancing the lives of those with ADHD. Yet, my commitment to inclusivity extends well beyond the professional sphere. As a proud queer neurodivergent author, I strive to dismantle the entrenched power dynamics within research and publishing. This book is also an invitation to passionate learners, beckoning them to take a deep dive into the intricacies of neurodiversity.
Drawing from my dual vantage points as a clinical researcher with contributions to esteemed journals such as the British Medical Journal (see below), and as an individual who navigated the world with undiagnosed ADHD for 47 years, this book is a fusion of empirical rigour and lived experience, a model that inspired me to create my Thrive With ADHD course, which is now for registration for any ADHDers out there who may be interested.
The course, like the book, weaves together the strands of nutritional neuroscience, mental health, the gut-brain axis, and the art of living to turn ADHD challenges into a symphony of strengths. I draw from the hard evidence in the neuroscience of self-regulation, emotional awareness, and cognitive reframing and provide mindful, somatic, and imaginative practices that pave a path of self-discovery and empowerment, harnessing your unique neurotype for a fulfilling, vibrant life.
Anticipate a transformative journey with "Thrive with ADHD" starting in late 2024 or early 2025. This is more than a book; it's a conduit for change.
I await, with keen anticipation, the moment you can embrace this expedition, unfolding it page by page in your very hands.
With love,
Congratulations Miguel! Great work!
Thrilled for you, and also for all the practitioners and people this is going to help. Fantastic news. π
